@chokow37 yes, but so much prettier, more beautiful as a blond. One can hardly recognize her as a brunette/redhead.

@bigbuttpretzel oh–the guy? He lied to her. He was a habitual cheater. Maybe you should check out the film and “educate” yourself.

@ekocentric I’m referring to the school principal when I mentioned an “old bat.” I felt a lot better about this movie when I saw all of the deleted parts. Including the ending where Jenny is an Oxford student riding her bike with a young man. David comes driving up looking like a hot mess begging her to come back to him. And to tell her that he had volunteered to serve time in prison for over 190 offenses and thefts!! She turned him down flat and said: “I’m at Oxford now David.” And walked off.

I was stationed at Lakenheath Royal Air Force base in east Anglia (It’s an American base by the way) a little over 3 decades ago and I felt very sad for poor little Jenny in the movie. Until I remembered that a 16 year old in the early 60′s in another country would not have been as “out there” by herself as someone (like myself) here who had been sheltered. She was better equipped to deal with his betrayal than he was. She was the grown up in their relationship.

I like that scene where she’s dancing with dominic cooper. it’s where you kind of start to realize there’s more going on than we see. it’s just really cool.

Jenny should have introduced this old bat to David. He would have done her the same way…or would have gone after her grand daughter. lol

Everybody is saying “she seems so much older in real life compared to An education”… Does anyone get that in the film she played a 16 year old and in real life she’s 24. In movies if someone is playing a character younger than themselves they have to act younger, plus the make-up they would have used would have contributed to the physical side of things, plus since the movie she got her hair cut, which did make her appear younger. She’s a great actress who can pretend to be any age!!

agreeing with just about everybody on this feed, Carey does seem a lot older now than she did in the movie, lolz

@ceciliaaSN I literally said she has grown up SO much, and right as I was about to read your comment.
She is such a woman now! Her voice is so much more mature.

she’s really coming up finally, but I can’t join in on the “pretty” bandwagon, I think she looks really old for her age but she’s uber talented!
